Being a QA Engineer in Language Tech

Working in language technology testing is unlike testing any regular software product. It’s about evaluating how well AI understands human speech and text across different languages, dialects, and real-world scenarios.

Here’s what my role as a QA Engineer involves:

Accuracy Testing: Measuring Word Error Rate (WER) and analyzing how well the AI understands different accents.
Performance Testing: Ensuring real-time processing with low latency.
Automation: Developing test scripts for faster and more efficient validation.
Handling Challenges :
Indian languages are complex—building diverse datasets is tough but crucial.
Real-time processing needs to be smooth—even under heavy loads.
Measuring accuracy isn’t straightforward—we develop tools to benchmark and improve it.
